2014-7-1 · The Bentong-Raub Suture is a significant structure in SE Asia comprising a NW–SE trending fault system ().The suture is suggested to be genetically related to the gold mineralization in the Central Gold Belt (Wan Fuad and Purwanto, 2002).The Bentong-Raub Suture Zone of the Malay Peninsula represents the main Palaeo-Tethys ocean basin and forms the boundary between the Sibumasu …
2016-9-13 · 1 Introduction. The Bentong-Raub Suture Zone (BRSZ) is a major structural zone in Peninsular Malaysia (Fig. 1), which represents a segment of the main Devonian to Middle Triassic Palaeo-Tethys Ocean (Hutchison, 1989; Spiller & Metcalfe, 1995; Tan, 1996; Metcalfe, 2000, 2011, 2013a, 2013b) forms the boundary between the Sibumasu terrane in the west and Sukhothai Arc/ …
2019-5-9 · The continent is the second largest carbon sink on Earth''s surface. With the diversification of vascular land plants in the late Paleozoic, terrestrial organic carbon burial is represented by massive coal formation, while the development of soil profiles would account for both organic and inorganic carbon burial. As compared with soil organic carbon, inorganic carbon burial, collectively ...

2018-5-24 · The Tak Fa Formation is mainly massive to well-bedded limestone with subordinate sandstone and shale, which stretches from north of Lopburi Province, through the type area at Tak Fa village in southeast Nakhon Sawan Province northeastwards to Phetchabun Province (Figure 2; Figure S2a; Ridd et al., 2011).Three sites (Th218, Th219, and Th220) were collected from section 1 (road …
The Perhentian complex consists of two series of plutonic rocks, the younger Perhentian granite and the older Perhentian Kecil syenite. They form a reversely zoned complex where the syenitic rock is rimmed by the granitic rock. The former ranges in composition from syenite to monzonite to gabbroic rocks whereas syenogranite dominates in the latter pluton.
Abstract. Fault architecture and fracture network evolution (and resulting bulk hydraulic properties) are highly dependent on the mechanical properties of the rocks at the time the structures developed. This paper investigates the role of mechanical layering and pre-existing structures on the evolution of strike–slip faults and fracture networks.
2013-10-25 · Highlights The Malay Peninsula comprises three zones, the Western, Central and Eastern Belts. Central and Eastern Belts represent the Sukhothai Arc (fore-arc, arc, basement). Western Belt represents part of the Gondwana-derived Sibumasu Terrane. Collision zone between Sibumasu and Sukhothai Arc is the Bentong-Raub suture zone. The pan-Peninsula orogeny commenced in Early …

2019-5-27 · The Sichuan–Yunnan–Guizhou metallogenic province of Southwest China contains more than 200 Mt of Pb–Zn ore in carbonate-hosted Pb–Zn deposits, representing ~ 27% of the total Pb and Zn resources of China. Sources of metals and pathways of ore-forming fluids were elucidated through a study of the Pb–Zn–S–Cd isotopic compositions of sphalerite from the Tianbaoshan, Fusheng, Maozu ...
The thickness of the basalts in the central zone is typically greater than 2,000 m, reaching a maximum of 5,384 m at Binchuan (Y. X. Zhang et al., 1988), near the eruption center (Li et al., 2013, 2015; J. F. Xu et al., 2007; Y. G. Xu et al., 2004).The basalt assemblage in this central area is divided into five lithologic units (P 2 β 1 to P 2 β 5): the P 2 β 1 unit is characterized by a ...

Centroid An assumed point in a zone that represents the origin or destination of all trips to or from the zone. Generally, it is the center of trip ends rather than a geometrical center of zonal area.
2018-6-28 · Detrital zircon U-Pb-Hf isotopic data from (meta) sedimentary rocks have been extensively used to trace the source terranes and constrain paleogeographic reconstruction of continents (Cawood et al., 2012, 2013; Fedo et al., 2003; Han et al., 2015, 2016; X. R. Zhang et al., 2016, 2015) this study, we carried out systematic U-Pb and Hf isotopic analyses on detrital zircons from Sumatra (stars ...
2015-6-3 · The Raub-Bentong Suture has accommodated considerable strike-slip movement (ref). This has resulted in numerous splays running along the Central Gold Belt. The Penjom Gold Mine is located along one of the more significant splays (Davies, 2000). It is situated within a sequence of Permian terrigenous, volcaniclastic and carbonate sedimentary rocks of the Raub …

Kabaing Granite is one of the major intrusive igneous rocks in Mogok, and was first noticed by Brown and Judd (1896) near Kabaing on the motor road. This granite is a biotite granite, greyish, hard, compact and massive, medium-grained, homogeneous in texture, and regionally discordant to Mogok metamorphics.
2017-5-30 · Gondwana-derived terranes are now separated by major faults or suture zone, which are rarely simple and easily recognizable lineaments. Different association of ore mineral systems such as deposits of sediment-hosted/orogenic gold and granite-related minerals is discovered in collision and subduction zones of the Gondwana-derived terranes. They are associated with large-scale, terrane …
2016-8-19 · Demagnetization levels starting at 20 mT are shown: 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 mT. The C is resolved from 30 mT upward (for unheated samples the C is only resolved from 70 mT upward). Note that demagnetization diagrams of individual positions are somewhat more noisy than the combined 3 position diagram.

1. Introduction [2] Deformation in the Earth''s crust is focused in plate boundary zones and directly reflects the relative motion of tectonic plates in juxtaposition. At many of the world''s plate boundaries the first-order plate velocities and their temporal evolution are constrained by seafloor spreading data [e.g., Stock and Molnar, 1982; DeMets et al., 1994; Sutherland, 1995; Cande and ...
